Having a friend like Phil is a nice experience; he is a nice person who has taken a very important place in the Christian extreme metal scene.

I bought this album from him, which contains the whole discography of Sorrowstorm, plus one bonus track from the Panamanian Christian black metal band:Nocturnal Faith which Phil has served as their manager.

The Album breaks through with the songs of Sorrowstorm’s more recent album “Funeral Oath” rawness and heaviness can be seen in these songs sang with black metal shrieks from Phil, the drumming works are also great, I wonder how Phil can do both at the same time, we all know the great step Sorrowstorm has given with the Funeral Oath EP.

The themes of these songs are Satan is a loser; we have the war won by Christ and stuff like that. Christ is not hidden in this album, and Christian theme is presented throughout the whole album.

The album continues with the songs from “Caverns of Grief” debut album of Sorrowstorm formed by 8 brutal songs , keyboards are used in this album, I like the way they played the keyboards in this album, this is a not well produced album but it is good and also shows a different proposal than the current EP this band has released. Death metal vocals are found throughout this production.

"Enslaver of Hateful souls", is an insane song, it might be the best, from the “Caverns of Grief” album , I had never have seen such aggressiveness in the vocals as I saw in this song, the guitars go furious and the bass and the keyboards together gives a nice sound to this song.

"The arduous Warpath" is one of my favorite songs! The guitars is well played in this song, as always Phil doing a nice job in the drumming and vocals, the song becomes slow in the middle of it with acoustic guitars.

"Ensemble of Perdition", starts with acoustic guitars, then the guitars take over, followed by the drums and beautiful vocals and lyrics, warning the sinners, about the True God they rejected and the punishment is the lake of fire. Keyboards! Wow, nice way to use the keyboards I love them.

As I said the last song is from a band called Nocturnal Faith, It is called “Blackness Reality” and the genre is progressive black metal, nice song! The instruments and vocals seem to be well played, and the ending is pretty epic! I’m wondering when this band is going to released something…
