What I have here is the newest release from Son of Man records called In Shadows
Eternal by Horrific Majesty. Though this is raw unblack, this is a new stand of
it which I have not heard of in any other unblack band play. I have been told
this sounds kind of like Burzum but I cant say that since I dont listen to
secular black metal. This is available at Son of Man Records on April 20th for
$10.
The first song is called Lost in your Emptyness which, like much of
the rest of the album, is depressive. The drums of the album are similar to
Eulogiums however better. Its not really a fast song and it has melodic elements
on it. Its a pretty good song and great start to this album. The second song is
called Death of Dreams. It starts of with a melodic soft guitar part with
ghoulish keys in the background. This song however is faster and is among the
more aggressive songs on the album. The lyrics of this song is depressive like
most of the other lyrics. NO I DO NOT MEAN EMO! Its just not like the intense
lyrics Horde has. Track 3 titled World of Waste is also a faster song similar to
Death of Dreams. Both of these songs are excellent. Song 4 called Conflagration
of the Wicked is more like the first one and is more depressive. The vocals of
this song is hard to hear at times but thats typical and ok for unblack. Next is
In Shadows Eternal which shares the name of the album. This is a sorrowful and
not intense song, and it resembles the previous track. However this song is a
whooping 8 minutes long, which is rare for black metal. At around 3 minutes it
goes into a keyboard solo which sounds pretty haunting but then right after it
will go into a faster part which makes it sound like some of the earlier songs.
The final song is called A soul decays in Darkness and a completely instrumental
song. This is a dark more sadder sounding song on the album since it contains
nothing but piano. An interesting way of ending this great album, I highly
recommend this for those who like unblack and at times depressing music with a
Christian message. However this might not be for everyone since its not really
furious so those who only like the intensity of Horde wont like this..
